Spam filters like thoth had. Also (and I know nothing about coding, so this maybe apples to oranges but) Safari has a plugin available called HoverSee page overview, where you leave your mouse over the link of a picture long enough and a preview will come up. I just wonder if that would be possible to do something like that on usenet??

The articles in MegaSearch are already checked for spam before they are listed. This pre-check eliminates most of the spam.
But creating your own filters is scheduled for the longer term.

Keep in mind that the search features in MegaSearch are very powerful.
You can for example exclude search results by placing an exclamation mark (!) or dash (-) in front of the keyword to exclude, like !german or -sample. This works in all search fields.

And combining the search fields (title, newsgroups, poster, sizes) may also get a more accurate search result.

Also the password and obfuscation filters are great to filter a lot of crap.

The documentation about all features is currently being written and should be available real soon.
For now please take a look at advanced search tips.

To answer your other question; It is not possible to show previews or thumbnails before the content is downloaded. Such feature requires us to download all usenet content and would take years.
