Crash when downloading certain files from groups like a.b.teevee

Usenet crashes when downloading files such as "The.Last.Witch.Hunter.2015.German.720p.BluRay.x264.zip" which are very tiny files and I suspect are hidden exe files to distribute malware/spyware.
I was curious as to the actual file content so downloaded one and Usenetic abruptly crashed.
There have been a lot of these zip files posted and generally they are probably hidden exe files.
The issue is that Usenetic crashes instead of just downloading the file.
